Adding Value to Your Clients Is The Art of Marketing

Working with business owners and CEOs of small businesses over the years, I’ve heard from many that want to start implementing chatbots, programmatic advertising, apps, funnels, and any other new marketing tactic available.

I think with so many ways to market a business today and this obsession with technology, platforms, and tools is where people really go wrong.

What I’ve always told business owners is that “marketing is a process” and if you work the process in a way that adds value to your clients it doesn’t matter about which tools you use.

Truthfully speaking, all the technology and tools are going to change over time anyway — Yellow Book to Search Engines, Myspace to Facebook, Classifieds to Craiglist, Mail to Email, etc. — but if you work these new tools and tactics into what you’re doing now that works and use it as a way to add value to your clients, you’ll avoid shiny object syndrome.
