Today’s LinkedIn post is certainly a big topic: “how to attract ideal customers” because any owner or CEO of a small business that wants to build any kind of marketing momentum will need to appeal to some segment of their target market called ideal customers.

Far too often small businesses spend all of their attention on anyone who has the money or need for what they sell and not enough on understanding and choosing who has the right need, right problem, the right budget and the right motivation to solve that problem.

Here’s the “attract ideal customers” marketing process I plan to share today.

You attract by generating awareness, educating, and building trust:

1. Know who you are ideally suited to serve
2. Communicate a difference that is valued by this ideal customer
3. Create a website, article, presentation, email campaign, and sales process that addresses the needs of this narrowly defined customer
4. Promote and generate awareness surrounding your content assets in #3
5. Be found and experienced in different environments and in many places (Ex: social media, virtual presentation, in person, TV, radio, written expertise, speaking, podcast)
6. Build a team of strategic partners, sponsors and customer champions willing to help prospects find you
