Small Business Marketing Must Be Led By Strategy
Recently I received a referral from one of the virtual assistants we employ to a successful media production firm who at first was only interested in talking to a marketing firm about email marketing.
But after listening to what their challenges and problems were, it was clear that the real problem for this CEO and staff came down to not having a diagnosis to determine the prescription.
Specifically for this prospect:
-knowing what they do that’s both unique and valued
- understanding the buying criteria for decision-makers
- demonstrating the capabilities and expertise they have
- providing opportunities for prospects to sample expertise
- defining the preferred communication/frequency for clients
This prospect reminded me that you must nail the diagnosis part of marketing, so you can confidently go to work on the prescription part of marketing, but you can’t have one before the other.
