The One Thing Required for Generating Referrals

We’re developing the marketing strategy for a medical practice here in Virginia and the topic of generating referrals came up.

The one thing generating referrals requires you to understand and document is a cry or signal for help.

Plan to train your referral sources to look for the clues you’ve grown to see and hear.

In other words, people don’t always come right out and say, “I don’t think I am getting the education, outcomes, and bedside manner that I should, do you know a good medical professional.”

If they did that, and you were an educational, caring, and outcome-focused medical professional, referring you would be a piece of cake.

Create a tool you call — “Think of us when x,y,z:” — Then make up a list of the smoke signals you know about. Things like lifestyle changes, business events, pain — whatever makes sense for your business. You know you’ve heard them a hundred times.

Just playback some of the conversations and reach outs you’ve had with prospects and clients and put those clues down on paper for your #referral sources.
