Why You Should FIRE Your Top Client

During a recent client meeting the topic of firing our top client came up and it got me thinking that other small business owners and CEOs face this problem too.

Hanging onto a “top client” who isn’t profitable.

It doesn’t matter how much revenue your top client brings in.

If they’re very demanding, drive your staff crazy, make you run in circles, and just don’t seem to understand why they can’t skip any steps of your process or you’ve grown to the point where you no longer effectively service their needs …. they’ve got to go. Or else your profitability and staff will crumble.

If you’re a CEO or a business owner that’s holding onto a “top client” who is bringing your staffs morale down, making you attend pointless meetings, paying you late, or demanding services outside your contract for the same fee, I encourage you to have a tough (but necessary) firing conversation.
